JeanRichard was founded in 1731 by Abraham-Louis Breguet's father-in-law, Isaac Goüin. As a young man working in his father's clock-making workshop in Fleurier (Neuchâtel), Switzerland, Goüin had an innate talent for mechanics and horology. He soon became one of the most respected clock-makers in Europe.
A Legacy That Lasts
Over time, JeanRichard continued to evolve under different leaderships but never lost its focus on craftsmanship and tradition. In 1865, Louis-Ulysse Chopard joined forces with Charles-Auguste Norbert Comptans to create what would become known as "Chopard" today – another renowned Swiss luxury brand.
